Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better. – Jim Rohn
Everyone has heard the above quote or something of the like before. “Do what others won’t do and you’ll be successful,” or “be different than the crowd and you’ll come out on top.” We hear it, but when do we do it?
How often do we sit in the crowd, get in line, do it like it’s always been done, or try to “give better service,” or get better at our marketing, or work harder? We hear “be different,” but we are still doing what everyone else keeps doing…trying harder.
What if we decided to …
- Not work on that project last minute
- Woke up early to spend time on yourself
- Give someone respect who didn’t deserve it
- Forgive someone who didn’t ask for it
- Sit in the front row
- Go above and beyond on an ordinary task
- Do something that no one else does
The best part about this is, we have full control of all of it. We have full control of being different. We can treat people ridiculously well regardless of our circumstances. Don’t try harder, give better service, have better marketing . . .that is what everyone else does.
Do something different.
Be different. The world will be a better place because of you.
